Speaker Bio
Amit is Chief Executive Officer of Philanthropy Kids, a Dallas-based nonprofit with the mission to celebrate and inspire young changemakers through education, leadership development, and hands-on philanthropy. He founded Philanthropy Kids in 2011 to increase access for young people to learn about philanthropic involvement and create more opportunities for youth to demonstrate civic leadership. As CEO, he led the expansion of the organization's flagship education program, PAVE, into new communities and campuses across North Texas. He also initiated the launch of the Impact Factory, an incubator for young people to launch social impact projects.
Prior to joining Philanthropy Kids as full-time CEO in 2023, Amit worked at the Commit Partnership as a member of the Analytics department. Earlier in his career, he worked as an engineer at AT&T and Lockheed Martin and in academic research at the University of Texas at Austin and the University of North Texas.
Amit is a proud alumnus of Southern Methodist University where he attended for his undergraduate studies and the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science where he attended for high school.
As a North Texas native, Amit has been actively involved in the Dallas community since he was a child. Whether with his family or with his Boy Scout troop, he was regularly volunteering. His participation in Scouting led to him earning the Eagle Scout Rank and receiving the Glen A. and Melinda W. Adams Award for Eagle Scout Project of the Year in 2012.
Amit has served on the board of the Genesis Women's Shelter HeROs Auxiliary Group since 2024, and has been a Partner at Social Venture Partners since 2022. Previously, he served on the boards of November Project, The Watering Hole Collective, Union Coffee, and the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas Emerging Leaders Society. In 2019, Amit was invited to join the inaugural class of the Communities Foundation of Texas's Emerging Leaders in Philanthropy program, and in 2021 he was invited to join the 6th Class of Social Venture Partners of Dallas's Dana Juett Residency.
In his spare time, Amit enjoys competing in pub trivia with friends, listening to new music, and walking around 'unwalkable' parts of Dallas
